Looking back at almost a year ago now, who would've thought I'd be making the trip here again - this time to help my sister move in to the city of her dreams?!

This post has been sitting in my drafts for months as I waited for fall season to come back around and travel to become more possible again, but I figured now is a better time than ever to hit publish.
So if Nashville is towards the top of your list of places to visit, make sure to save this post!

There's been a lot of questions lately -
especially the one that goes, "what are you going to do now that your sister is moving?"

Every time I hear it, my heart sinks a little further as the pressure of expectation builds with each time that exact question is posed. What am I going to do? Honestly...? Part of me just wants to yell "I don't know" while another part wants to ask in return "what does it have to do with me?"

I know that God has a plan. I know it'll be clear and ready to go when the time is right. And you don't know how much I am trying to hold tight to that trust and that faith that He knows what I'm going to do even when I don't. You don't feel the weight that question carries. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'd like to plan it all out and have an exact picture of what my future looks like. But if there's anything this year has taught me, it's that even if we set our plans, they don't always go according to plan - at least not ours anyways. But God has a greater purpose, a better plan for all of this. So please understand when I lower my gaze, feeling the sting of that question, saying an honest I don't know. I'm just trying to trust in the One that does.

Since our trip last November, I rounded up my favorite photos and thought it would be fun to share the locations of each place for y'all to visit too in a helpful guide!

I hope this helps you get the best photos during your next Nashville trip.
Leave a comment at the bottom of this post with your favorite spot!

(behind Frothy Monkey - 2509 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37204)

This bridge was one of the coolest places to see views of the city! Not only did we get some pretty amazing photos here, but it was so fun to walk through and see everything from one spot!

(John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge)

A must-see mural that everyone has to take a photo in front of at least once in their life! I remember taking a picture here years ago on Fourth of July and love to compare it with these pictures now!

Not necessarily Nashville but same trip -

Something everyone should do at some point on their bucket list: a cave tour!
This one especially is unique and so cool because they actually do concerts inside the cave. We didn't know while visiting until we heard music during our tour and found out that a popular folk indie type of band was doing soundcheck for their concert that day, so we were able to hear some of that!

(Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, TN)

Snow!!! Or ice, but I like to think snow haha. This is definitely something we don't see every day here in Florida, so it was like an answer to prayer that we were able to see fall leaves and snow all in one trip!

Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.

5 months ago I didn’t think I could feel pretty again without lashes. For years I thought I had to apply perfect makeup, do my hair, wear heels and outfits just to feel good about myself. It’s crazy the impact these things can have on us.

For over 3 years, I damaged my natural lashes by applying the fake ones with rarely any breaks in between. I struggled the first few weeks after deciding to take them off, didn’t feel like myself at all, didn’t feel pretty anymore.

But as time went on, I saw my natural lashes begin to grow on their own. And then I started applying Circe Beauty lash serum every night, and I couldn’t believe not only how much my lashes were growing again but how healthy they felt for the first time in years.

Any chance I've had, I have been walking up to family and friends, eyes wide, saying "look at my lashes! Aren't they so much longer?" It's something 5 months ago I didn't think I would be so giddy about now, but here I am, and I couldn't feel more proud.

these are the results so far!

During this same time frame, I also started a new skincare routine using ESK Skincare! I've never really known where to start with skincare - just used products here and there that I pick up from the store. There are so many different steps and products in other people's routines that I always felt intimidated by it. But then ESK made it so easy for me by having me fill out a quiz about my skin type and then putting together a kit tailored to my specific skin concerns.

Believe me when I say I didn't even have to think twice about what to use or trying different things. They knew exactly what I needed and sent everything, including descriptions of each product and how/when to use them!

I have stuck with this routine every morning and night, and my skin has honestly never felt better. I didn't know the difference until now that it makes to use a cleanser that works and moisturizer along with a zinc shade to protect my face. I also added a face serum by Bare Minerals to my night routine for an evening moisturizer step and love how all of these work together so well!

Now I can walk around without any makeup at all and look in the mirror and feel more like myself than I have in a long time. You see, I think we buy into all of these things to make us feel prettier that we forget the natural beauty within us.

It’s not the harm in the makeup or the hairstyles or beauty routines, but in how over time we look to those things so much that we lose ourselves in them.

This year was needed to make this change in me - to point me back towards feeling like myself again.

And I am so thankful for brands like these that help me feel like my best self naturally. ♡

It's a bit funny looking back on winter type of photos now that we're in the heat of summer, especially considering these were taken in early March - which is crazy for a Floridian like me since we don't get seasons like that!

I have been finding solace though in going through photos from earlier this year when life was looking a little brighter. These are from the trip to Northern California, this day specifically in Lake Tahoe. We drove up from Sacramento to spend a few days in Amador and decided to take a day trip from there to Tahoe to drive through the mountains and see what there was to do!

It was a fun little getaway, but I do remember at that point of the trip after constantly being with people for a few days prior, that I was starting to feel drained. If you're an introvert too, you know the feeling, and if not then maybe this will help you know what it's like. As an introvert, it's so important to have some time to yourself to recharge and feel centered again, especially after being around people and staying busy for days. But on a long trip like this, it's not the most practical to just get away for long enough to recharge, so I thought I would share some tips on how to get through it!

While we may not be going on trips for the time being, I know a lot of people are staying home around family and roomates and not really getting much of a break from them these days. So if you're in this kind of situation too, this is for you!

Here are five tips on how to be around people as an introvert (and not go crazy haha).

1  - plug in the music

During the car ride to Tahoe with everyone together in the van, I plugged in my earphones and started up a playlist of music. Sometimes it helps to close your eyes and escape in your mind.

2 - break away for an evening

One night of this trip, everyone had fallen asleep early so I took myself down to the bottom floor of the airbnb and turned on an episode of the Bachelor that I hadn't watched yet. I can't tell you how nice it felt to just sit down there alone for a couple of hours and have a break from everything.

3 - communicate with the people around you

I know this may seem like it defeats the whole topic, but stay with me for a minute. Sometimes people don't understand the need for alone time but sometimes they do. If you're trying to hold yourself together around them, it can be easy to feel frustrated or annoyed. So instead, try communicating with them. If the people around you aren't understanding your need for a couple of hours alone, let them know! It's as easy as telling them, "hey, I would love to spend time with you, but I'm starting to feel drained and need a couple of hours to myself to recharge. Maybe you can call up a friend, do some laundry, or find something to keep busy and then we can do something together later."

4 - find a creative outlet

Most everyone has some kind of outlet that helps channel their energy or emotions into something positive. This blog does that for me, along with writing just to write. I don't tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve (unless I have completely hit my breaking point) so I need an outlet like this to write things out. For others, it could be reading, creating music, making art, playing a sport, or anything that helps you channel your feelings in a way that lets them out and makes it feel okay again.

5 - set aside quiet time

Wake up a little earlier if you're a morning person or go to bed earlier if you're a night owl and set aside a few minutes of quiet time to talk to God, read passages in the Bible that speak to you, and maybe even listen to some worship music. There's an incredible amount of peace that comes from putting away the phone and the never-ending distractions of the world and replacing it for a few minutes of quiet solitude, starting the day by saying hey God thank you for the new opportunities of life you have for me and ending the day by telling Him all about it. Whether it's good or heavy or in between, He's always there listening, even if you don't feel it. How do I know? Because of the times that I have felt it. A peaceful, warm embrace from all around as you lift your head up with eyes closed and it feels like sunshine coming from above. It's a feeling hard to describe but also hard to miss. And that is how I know He is real and He is here, ready to take on this life with you.

I hope these tips helped in some way if you stumbled upon this blog feeling overwhelmed or in need of a break. It can be tough being an introvert in a world of constant energy and busy lives. It's perfectly okay to spend time alone and get back to feeling like yourself again. Even if you're not an introvert, everyone can benefit from having time to themselves. It gives you a better sense of self, helps to feel grounded and centered, and offers perspective on everything going on around you.

So go on and try these out, and remember that despite how it may feel, everything is going to be okay. ♡

even Jesus withdrew at times
to pray to God. ↷

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 5:16

Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force,
withdrew again to a mountain by himself.
John 6:15

One of those days Jesus went to a mountainside to pray,
and spent the night praying to God.
Luke 6:12
