Christmas wish list

by - December 06, 2016

Christmastime is here! Who else can't believe it's already December, aka the very end of the year?!
As mentioned in previous posts, wish lists are my favorite, and because of the time of year and gift giving season, I decided to put together a list of things perfect for those whom you might not know exactly what to buy for.
In the above photo are some fabulous companies that I have collaborated with, so I thought I would write a little about what they offer and extend a coupon code or two.

In one of my most recent blog posts, I wrote about my new phone case from Case Taboo. This is literally one of my favorite phone cases that I have ever owned. The marble look is so chic and goes with anything and everything. Get the Carrara phone case here for the style guru on your list.

You might also remember a post about Skinny Coffee Club that I put up not too long ago. This coffee is all natural, easy to make, and tastes so good (without that strong bitter coffee flavor). It definitely works to speed up the metabolism as well. Use my code AHAPPYBLUR20 on here for 20% off your order for your coffee lover.

If you have been with me for a little while now, you'll remember my collaboration post with JORD Wood Watches a few months back. These watches are incredible and so legit. They're made of the finest quality and definitely worth every buck. The site has many styles to choose from (and great offers/giveaways from time to time), but you can order my exact watch here for that watch collector - or time-deficient friend like me.

One of my newer collaborations is with Boho Betty, a cute little jewelry company. I will have a post specifically about their line up soon! In the meantime, I recently ordered this sparkly wrap bracelet and cannot get over how darling it is. Pale pink is my favorite color (if you couldn't already tell), so that combined with the crystals just makes a girl's heart swoon. Use my code AHAPPYBLUR for 20% off, with my link here to order a bracelet of choice - there's so many to choose from!

Another new collaboration - that I am still in the process of testing before posting - is with Smile Brilliant. This company provides teeth whitening kits, similar to the ones that you get from the dentist, but a diy at home version. So far, I am loving the results of this product. My teeth look whiter every day, and I make sure not to use it too often just to maintain the health of my teeth. Start the process yourself today here or order a kit for a friend who's been looking for a better teeth-whitening option!

Now on to the list of items that I personally don't have but would love to see under the tree come Christmas morning!
Makeup, shoes, rose gold everything.... I am definitely the all time girly girl and so simple to shop for - or at least I think so. These are some products that I have been eyeing for some time now and really can't wait to get my hands on. I mean, just look at those headphones and those shoes! (and stationary, makeup palettes, sunglasses...you get the gist.)

I know that I sound incredibly excited about all of these things, which I totally am, but sometimes I start to wonder how much simple, physical items like this really matter. Yeah, seems crazy coming from a person who works with and promotes these products, but just think about it.
There are people out there on the streets, and when asked what they want for Christmas, their answers are movie tickets or Starbucks cards. Not a home. Or good food and water. Or a family. Just these materialistic luxuries that we take for granted every day.
Then there are people who struggle with mental conditions, and the families that support them through it all. And my heart breaks for them. I can't seem to understand why these things happen. Why people are born with these illnesses and cast apart from others. Why they can't function normally. What the purpose is behind it. Here I am asking for makeup or shoes, when all they really want is to be loved and accepted.
And last are the people whose lives have altered completely, all from one diagnosis. People doing whatever it takes to survive this physical illness that has placed a ticking clock over their heads. All they want is healing, more time, experiences, life.

I just feel silly, writing a post about material items that I want for myself, when there are people like this out there in the world, some not too far. Why should I deserve complete health, loving friends and family, a good, simple life? And why can't they have it as well?

This year, I think it's important to speak of more than just our Christmas wish lists or holiday parties or ugly sweaters. I think it's time to bring up matters that might not be easy to talk about. I think we really need to get to the bottom of one essential question: how can I help?
Maybe it's going to the hospital to visit someone or comfort their family in the waiting room. Maybe it's extending love to a special needs person, as you would to anyone else, and seeing them as a person and not as their deficiency. Maybe it's providing food and water for the homeless.
Whatever we can do to make some kind of positive impact in the world, let's do it now.
No more delays.
Let's make this year the best Christmas yet.
