So I'm a little late with this post, but I'm hoping it pertains, as the year is still recent.
People often view it as a fresh start, a chance to begin
again, even a new life, but does it ever really feel much different from the
day before?
I believe that change comes with time, not just because the clock strikes 12 and the calendars flip.
As life moves on so do we. New beginnings will happen whether the date changes from 2015 to 2016 or even just May 12th to the 13th. A fresh start can occur at any time. I mean, you don’t see everyone hopping on and off the job train or moving or getting married on January 1st. Yes, there are the people that follow through with these ideals, but it’s not typically a “normal” thing to start a completely new life only at the beginning of the year.
We have the capability to alter our lives whenever we want. You could catch a flight to the other side of the world tomorrow morning. You can quit your job at any given day, get on stage and let out the song that has been inside of you for years, call up a friend who you may not be so close to anymore, take a train ride across the country, meet new people, do anything you want to do.
Who’s to say we have to wait another year or have the pressure to do it all right now?
But anyways, it’s still a new year, and the fact that we made it through another one is reason enough to celebrate.
Wishing you all a good day and hoping you make the most of every opportunity.
